CAN YOU HELP?

Monsignor Majoros has identified a number of ministries that would serve the people of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. However, volunteers are needed to coordinate the programs. If you can help, please contact the parish office at 610-532-5800 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Adult Altar Servers – Seeking adults to act as servers for Masses and funerals. Training will be provided.

Adult Service Corps – Seeking a team of adults to research, coordinate and perform service projects that would assist their fellow parishioners.

Altar Society – Seeking adults that would assist in cleaning the church each week and assist in the preparation of the church for Christmas, Easter and other special liturgies.

Coordinator of Parish Pilgrimages – Seeking an adult to assist in the coordination of parishioners attending Archdiocesan pilgrimages.

Coordinator of Liturgy – Seeking an adult to coordinate the implementation of upcoming changes to the liturgy.

Grounds Committee – Seeking a team of parishioners with knowledge and enthusiasm for gardening and maintenance of the landscaping on the parish grounds. The team would assist in planning, planting and maintaining decorative flower beds and containers and provide some assistance with the maintenance of existing plantings.

Hospitality Ministry – Seeking warm and cheerful people to welcome parishioners and guests to weekend masses.May also be requested to assist in preparing parish receptions, coffee and doughnuts gatherings or other events to foster a warm and welcoming parish atmosphere.

Parish Health Ministry – Seeking anyone with professional health care experience to assist with establishing this program. No hands-on nursing or medical care is involved. All volunteers would act in a support role to provide advice and advocacy. Among other tasks, volunteers would visit the home bound, provide relief for care givers, coordinate health programs for the parish, such as blood pressure screenings, and determine other needs related to health. Since many programs and services do not require health care experience, it would not be required that all volunteers have medical experience.

Parking Assistants – Seeking several teams of adults that would direct parking for each weekend mass.

Pre Cana Team – Seeking married couples to assist in preparing engaged couples for the sacrament of marriage. The program would be conducted several times each year. Training will be provided.

Receptionists – Seeking adult volunteers to help in the parish office to greet visitors and answer the telephone from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm Monday through Friday and during the day Saturday and Sunday.

Youth Service Corps – Seeking a team of adults to research, coordinate and supervise service projects for the parish’s tweens and teens. Children involved in giving back to their community develop strong ties to their parish and community and are less likely to engage in risky behavior. Volunteerism also provides the opportunity to develop skills that will be helpful in the workplace, such as, effective communication, teamwork and collaboration. It is important that we provide this type of opportunity to our young people.
